Xá Lợi Temple would like to invite you to celebrate the Commemoration and Anniversary of the Temple’s Relics on November 12th, 2006 at 12:30 with a Ceremony followed immediately by the public viewing of the Relics. Hot tea and cookies will be served in the afternoon.
On November 2004, Xá Lợi Temple, then under the name of Đạo Sơn Tự, had the blessing of hosting Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s extraordinary collection of the Heart Shrine Relics of Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha and other Saints and Masters.
These precious relics are pearl-like formation which are found amount the ashes of such holy men. They are the nectar of compassion and the realization of Bodhissatva, the cause that motivates someone to achieve enlightenment solely for the benefit of others through spiritual realization. It is said that being around Shakyamuni Relics is as if in the presence of the Tathagata.
The Heart Shrine Relic Tour has been seen by thousands and thousands of Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike around the world, all benefiting from the pure energy these relics exude, as well as their message of loving-kindness and peace.
Something considered very auspicious occured at Xá Lợi Temple on Friday while hosting the event. Four Relics of amber color appeared spontaneously inside the glass conatiner set on in the center table of the Maitraya display to the delight, owe and joy of the entire sangha. On Sunday, third and final day’s event, two more Relics manifested again in front of everyone. The blessing of seeing such a manifestation was very personal and most inspiring.
Many friends had come traveling from Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, as far as New Jersey and New- York to pay homage to the Buddha and all the great Masters.
With great compassion and humility, Grand Master Bảo Thành from Xá Lợi Temple offered two of those Relics to two Vietnamese Temples: “Chùa Linh Quang” of Telford, PA and “Thiền Viện Chơn Như” of Braddok, PA so that as many people will have the chance to view them and experience their benefits.
